My daughter came late to Warriors - a series of fantasy books that provide a lot of fun reading for middle graders. Of course the writing is a bit low brow, but the cat's characters are interesting and the world that is set up is believable and comes to life. There are exciting situations which play out as good drama and are exciting for the reader to engage in There are strong female characters which is also welcomed. Kids can also learn about culture in general through the stories of different clans, so makes the books educational too. She liked this book and particularly enjoyed the first three. All in all, I recommend this series.
You may think you've read it all,but this book proves you wrong.In this book there is happiness,sadness,even death,and dark secrets are revealed. Silverstream,Graystripe's mate,is going to have his kits!But then the unbelievable happens...Silverstream dies in her kitting,and Cinderpelt,who is now forever injured from a monster,is unable to save her.Graystripe goes into Riverclan with his kits,thinking it was for the best(Believe me,it's not). So,you know Fireheart's suspicions?Well,he was right.Tigerclaw attacks Thunderclan with Brokentail's old band of rogues.But he isn't after the CLAN specifically...He actually tries to kill Bluestar,to become the bloodthirsty leader we all know he is after!Luckily,Fireheart comes to Bluestar's rescue.Though she now doubts her own judgment,and soon believes she is at war with Starclan!As if that wasn't bad enough,she has the new deputy meeting after moonhigh!Everycat knows that Fireheart's deputyship will be a bad time for their clan.What they don't know is that he is the fire that Starclan had prophecied to Spottedleaf,the old medicine cat. Now the depth of the Warrior Cats books is going to begin.Like I said:You may think you've read it all,but this book and series proves you wrong. And to those who have never read any Warrior Cats books:SAVE UP THE MONEY.IT'S WORTH IT!And read the series in order.Or it won't make ANY sense!Believe me,I tried reading The Power Of Three miniseries before the second miniseries and it made absolutely NO sense to me.Please take my tip wisely.
These were some of my daughter's favorite books when she was young, and she recommended them to all her friends.. She made me buy each new one in hardback the moment they came out, which wasn't cheap. She hung on to them for ages, until parting with them as a young adult. When I saw this series was on the Kindle and on sale, I had to buy them for nostalgia's sake and for her to read again. I will reading them myself at some point.
My 11 year old cannot put these down! I think there are at least 30 of these, so I'm happy I can regularly find them used. I think it's great that my son loves them. I thought he'd be more drawn to the K-9 set of these books, Survivors, but he's hooked on Warriors. He says they're hard to remember all of the individual names & clans, but that the story is always good. He reads every day & gives me updates on which clan did what & if a new litter was born & what their names are. It's great to see him excited about books instead of video games & TV. Will be buying these for a while.
Another spellbinding tale! You will not be able to put this one down! I am so glad I was behind the times and just found Erin Hunters awesome work. I would loose it if I could not jump right into the next book!
Another in a set of serial YA storytelling about the feral cats who live in the woods and meadows near a road and human homes. Intricate society and worldbuilding, simple language. Delightful!
My granddaughter just loves this series. Though she's a very bright girl (aren't all granddaughters?), she had failed to develop a love for reading despite living in a home without TV and rationed computer time. But she's an animal lover and when her friends at school began talking about this series, she picked up the first one to see what her peers were talking about and she has been completely hooked since. We can hardly get her to put down one of these books to come meals. This series is the reading breakthrough we had been searching for to ignite her love of reading.
An amazing book! It has a good story line too. But one thing I really enjoy about this book is all the community and fellowship it has! There is also self-sacrifice too! And I hope that future readers will enjoy this book as much as I do!!!
