I fell in love with Charlotte and Jamie and anxiously awaited the release of this book. I’m not disappointed that I bought and read it, but the storyline left something to be desired. It just felt.... rushed. The mystery was there, but not as intense as the other books. It wasn’t as complex and page turning as I thought it would be, and the entire mystery was solved in one page. Seemed kind of like a cop out to me...I will say that this book was wayyyy more focused on the storyline of Charlotte, and where her and Jamie end up, rather than the mystery at hand. I loved the ending though, which I suspect some may disagree. It was very satisfying because it felt real, like the characters would really end up the way they did.Overall, mediocre book. But I forgive it because it’s Holmes and Watson.
I was so excited for this last book to come out and now I wish I had waited for it to be in sale. The ending chapter was so very disappointing and such a let down. It was like the author was telling a story of two people that we hadn't fallen in love with in the last three books.
This is my favorite series. Every book is more brilliant than the one that preceded it. Charlotte Holmes is one of the best characters in all of YA.
My daughter loves the author and her work. She talks about the characters and how the author draws you in.
Very satisfying ending (?) to a great series. The series starts off fast, with more happening and gets progressively slower and more internal. Still well worth reading.
I’m so sad that I’ve finished reading this book because there will never be more Jamie and Charlotte for me to read. I sat down and read this book in four hours because I simply couldn’t put it down. I’m so thrilled to read more of Brittany Cavallaro’s work and can’t wait to see what she writes next!
i just sat down and read this book in literally one sitting. it has been so long since i've done that. Let me tell you, the final installment of the Charlotte Holmes series is everything, EVERYTHING you are hoping for.It is sweet and surprising and hilarious and tense and intriguing and, at moments, frightening, and the heart of it is so, so, so profoundly beautiful and pure. i am so grateful that bri listening to her heart and gut and mind on this one because this book was everything i ever wanted for Charlotte and Jamie and also myself.
Ms. Cavallaro has created a flawed, unique and amazingly real take on the Holmes myth. And I her final book gives closure to those that have seen Charlotte finally finish her transformation into the woman she was always meant to be.
