One of the BEST books I've ever read on sex addiction. Dr. Mark Laaser did a phenomenal job in writing this book; it is extremely relevant for today's society. He also wrote with incredible detail and accuracy about the family dynamics of sex addiction; sex addiction is a generational family issue--not just a single family member issue. GREAT BOOK!
The is a very "subject specific" book. It is a great resource for sexual healing and freedom. Dr. Mark Lasser is a well known and accepted expert in this area. It is a faith based look at the process of redemption when sexual addiction is present in a person's life. It's been around for awhile and is well accepted as a trusted resource for the healing of sexual addiction and compulsions. Highly recommended.
This is a must read book for anyone struggling with this addiction or related to someone who is. It really helps to understand how ones family of origin is often the fuel for the fire that ignites later in life.
I've been a secular counselor/ therapist for over 30 years, and a Christian counselor for 13 years. This is the best book I have read that clearly explains addictions. It is specific to sexual additions, but explains all addictions and successful recovery options, in an understandable way.I highly recommend it for anyone needing help with sexual addiction or any addiction. I also urge all professionals, clergy or lay counselors to read and use this book when talking and praying with anyone discussing addiction issues - clients, friends or family members.
For anyone who is or knows someone with sexual addiction, this book sheds a lot of light. I lost someone very dear to me a year ago from an overdose of heroin, but he was also a sex addict, and now I understand his struggle.
