This book is nothing but shallow fluff. While Michelle Kwan's book had considerable more depth and insight, Tara Lipiniski's (ghostwritten?) autobiography is bland and superficical. She writes like a six-year-old and has a very limited vocabulary. As a teenager, I found the book so simple it was as if it was degrading my reading skills. But what can we expect from Tara besides bubbly, childish shallowness, and an attempt to be cute? Her Barbie commercial, huge grin, and ditsy, air-headed, and almost embarrassingly perky attitude are total turn-offs. At her age, she shouldn't be striving to be *cute*. Her only talent seems to be technicality in ice-skating and not much else. This book is a total waste of time and money. It will only be enjoyed by those just as simple-minded and superficial as Tara. For a more fulfilling and inspirational read, pick up Michelle Kwan's autobiography. It radiates the same maturity, grace, and depth that Kwan possesses on ice. Forget Tara. My prediction is that as time passes, Tara will fade and be replaced, while the truly talented, intelligent, and deep (both on and off ice) will remain memorable. Tara's book certainly supports my prediction.

I have always despised Tara Lipinski and her attitude-problem, but this pathetic excuse for a book shames both her and the sport of ice-skating, not to mention writing itself. Who in the world told this girl that she could write? Her vocabulary is far less advanced than my newborn cousin's, and her "I am the best, everyone else sucks" attitude isn't cool or cute or funny; it's pathetic and obnoxious. I was thankful that she turned pro, so I wouldn't have to hear her shrieking at the next winter Olympics, but I cannot escape from her. I read the book to see if I was possibly under-estimating her intelligence; to my shock, I found I had over-estimated it. This book is as spacey as Tara herself, though what else could be expected? As a 14 year old writer, I know that it is difficult to write in a believable way: why were editors invented? I also know that even I can write better, more interesting material than this. So why haven't *I* been published??? Tara doesn't deserve to have this pathetic book in print. END

Large print, pictures, small vocabulary, Even though it's written by a 14 year old, but still should be much better than this. This book has showed me what's the real Tara Lipinski behind the fame. Here're some quotes directly from the book: "The audience applauded as I finished my program. I felt like applauding too! After my terrible short program the year before at the Worlds, I ended up taking first. Michelle also skated well. But she stumbledd comping out of the triple lutz in her combination. She came in fourth. Irina Slutskaya was sixth." What's the point of telling how the Michelle messed up? and Irina? "No, it seemed as if the crowd was reacting to Michelle's scores, which had just come up. I looked at them too. They weren't great, and I was a little confused. (Later I found out that Michelle had fallen three times during her program. She'd had a bad day.)" Ok maybe you want to tell us how Michelle didn't skated well, maybe how she fell... but we don't need to know how many times she fell! And adding "She'd had a bad day." at the end? We know you just want to say she sucks. Tara keeps telling who came in after her at the competitions she won. I've never been a big fan of Tara Lipinski, and after reading this book, I will never be.

This book was a delightful journey into the life of a young skater who is breaking through to the top of her sport. I loved the information that I gained about the ups and downs of elite figure skating.My favorite thing about the book was how real it made everything seem. Though I consider myself a relatively knowledgable skating fan, this book told me countless things that I had been unaware of previous to reading it.Tara herself is a true inspiration, and this book took me into her life. I loved it! Like I said, it's a truly charming book and I would strongly recommend it to anybody interested in skating.

His BOOKs are all good reads - however he is a GREAT LONG TERM week by week teacher of THE WORD...Somehow this got so mixed up in "church" teachings...THANK ABBA FATHER for good teachers like Mark who SEARCH the book - diligently READ IT FROM COVER TO COVER and approach it as a hebrew book. Looking at it any other way would be like trying to have an indian understand Hitler.. There is so much in "church" taught by MENS ideas - or the council of ZZZ or XXX. THe WORD - ALL the WORD and NOTHING BUT THE WORD will always point to TRUTH and THE WAY.

Author Pastor Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State is a well-known and popular commentator on the Feasts of the Lord and has produced a series of DVDs on the Feasts that have gone around the world. He knows his subject and does not claim to be anything he is not.Biltz’s contention is that there is no extra bonus prize for being first to identify the real “Antichrist” or when exactly the “end times” will arrive. If fact, if you focus on that you may well miss the Antichrist. Instead, he contends we need to learn to recognize spiritual patterns within history and look for the reoccurrence of events in those patterns, perhaps updated to account for our ‘progress’. If we know the patterns, we’ll know what to look for and we won’t be fooled into either missing the Antichrist or being taken in by his message.His book is broken down into two main parts. The first explores theories, myths, and misconceptions. It provides us with a historical perspective of the title’s two topics. This is where he introduces us to various Hebrew word mistranslations – some very intentional at the time, and this has sent us down the wrong path. One good example is where the translators translated the same Hebrew word as ‘church’ in some cases and ‘assembly’ in other places. There was method to their madness – and not for good. Then Part One goes on to give us, using very thorough descriptions, the Jewish, Islamic, and Christian views of the End Times. While covering the Jewish view, Biltz provides a perspective on, among other things, who exactly will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. While describing the Islamic view, he provides an account of the Muslim perspective on Gog and Magog, and much more.He introduces us to and explains well, the history, rationale, danger, and consequences of Replacement Theology (the idea that God has given up on the Jews as His chosen people and replaced them with Christians). And he certainly does not let the Greek Philosophers get away scot-free with respect to their influences on these views. This part of the book is then rounded out with a review of various Antichrist theories. What is amazing is the similarity as well as the differences between the views, and Biltz does a good job of explaining what gives rise to both. Students of scriptural documents and ideologies will find this most interesting.In the second part of his book, entitled ‘Scriptural Keys to the Truth’, Biltz introduces us to Solomon – the king we recognize mainly as the wisest person that ever lived. But the author uncovers Solomon’s dark side presenting him (and with good reason given the evidence he offers) as a ‘type’ of the Lawless One. This section was most enlightening, even to a long-time reader of Scripture like me. Did you know, for example, that Solomon was acting as an arms dealer to Israel’s enemies?From there, he goes on to cover Israel’s Glory Days, focusing on what those times teach us. With that we transition into the importance of the Judaic calendar vs. the Roman one. He describes the various feasts that God wanted us to celebrate and when they were to be celebrated. Biltz also has a sense of humor and points out in one place in the book that our failure to observe the right calendar and allowing certain variations in the dates from year to year, causes us to celebrate Christ’s death before His birth.He zooms in on two very special celebrations – Hanukkah and Purim. Biltz explains the two historically and then relates Hanukkah to the Messiah (using Matthew 24) and Purim to the End Times. A broader perspective of the Feasts is then presented, using the Book of Revelation as the source. He discovers, as will his readers, that the Feasts of the Lord are directly tied to the last book of the Bible and thus to the unfolding of end times events.The whole point being we would do well to look for the pattern in the timing of the Feasts and how they would apply in the End Times.One learns much from the book and many questions are raised which challenge the reader. For example, is it possible that the Antichrist may be AI (Artificial Intelligence)? Could there be two Messiahs as the Jews believe? Will two different Jesus figures arrive at the end times – the real Jesus and the fake Jesus, as the Muslims believe? Do the Jews believe the Messiah they are awaiting will be divine?Biltz maintains we need to be studying the modus operandi of the Antichrist more than we need to figure out who it is or will be? He warns us that the deception of the Antichrist will be very appealing because of the amount of truth he will embed in the lies.Based on his belief that the answer to when the End Times will occur, Biltz identifies a series of events that we need to look out for and that is worth the price of the book itself. Early in his introduction, he does give us an indication that he believes we are likely living in the last third of this present age. I’ll let you discover how he arrives at that for yourselves – and it is most interesting and convincing, at least to me.However, he makes it clear throughout the book, that his views are merely his beliefs based on his research and study. We can make up our own minds.This is a book that I very highly recommend. It is informative no matter what your faith is or isn’t. It makes you think. Very thought-provoking and challenging doctrine and teachings of the three basic religions while maintaining a balance between them directing the reader to more closely examine what he is saying. He shows facts and insights that I, as a Christian believer in Yeshua, have not seen elsewhere. Reading this is unsettling as is reading Daniel Gruber's "Messianic Writings" and his new book "This Man." A very worthwhile read and one that will cause you to think "are you kidding, no you're not."

I had a hard time staying with this. The beginning grabbed me enough to one-click, but, after that, the story struggled to keep my attention. For me, it was kinda boring, which will sound crazy considering all the action, crashing, and fighting. How can that be boring? But it was just all the time, and that, combined with the repetitive thoughts and dialogue of h/H, made the story drag. It was like the same thing again and again. Notable things: h was more capable and resourceful and had a better mental attitude than H; Mr. Mews and the tengers made me think of Stranger Things. 2.5⭐

This book had me rooting for both the humans and prytheens. It was a page turner. I was so happy to see Tamara and Auric make things work their way. Highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I hope the next book comes out soon. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

I read this book because it was free and the book blurb seemed interesting. Tamara, the heroine, is working on a huge colony ship as the engineer. There are only five of them awake on the trip to what will soon be their new home planet. All the other colonists are in stasis. Auric, big hunky alien, turned his back on his fellow warriors when they decided to attack the human ship and take it and the humans for their own. Leaving to warn the humans of the upcoming attack, Auric crash lands on the colony ship and tries to communicate what is going to happen if they don't leave right away! As Tamara is the only human who can speak (mostly) a language they can both understand, she is the one who grasps the threat and takes it seriously when the Captain doesn't. Soon both the humans and their alien attackers have crash landed on a forbidden planet.I would love to tell you what happens but that would be too easy. You're just gonna have to read it. LOL It's so good and would be excellent as a series.

Enjoyed reading this book which takes place in one of my favorite SFR settings: both the H and h have crashed onto a planet and must fight to survive. I’ve always enjoyed this type of story; the two main characters getting to know and love each other while fending off the dangers of the planet. As this is the first book in a new series I understand that the author needed to fit a great deal of plot into this first book. For me, I would have preferred to have Auric and Tamara spend more time in the wilds of the planet, with each other, before coming to the inevitable clash between the good guys and bad guys. Other than that (and it’s just a personal preference of mine) this was a fun read.

I ended this book with a huge smile on my face. That in itself, is a good review.I was amazed by the story.So much detail but not too much it got boring. Action and Romance with a side of naughty moments.It had a perfect balance.I am hooked, line and sinker.So excited for the next book, because thete has just GOT to be another book.I would highly recommend.Happy reading!Rating 5 starsI received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a good sci-fi romance. I enjoyed the building of the relationship between the two lead characters but felt one obvious issue was totally ignored. The heroine was good at starting to drum up support of both groups of colonists but the hero was just going to roll over and let the bad dude win. I kept waiting for him to publicize to the warriors that the worm was no longer the leader of the Silver Band but instead it was now the Black Band. They had turned into pirates, murderers, and thieves. Then the leader of the thugs quietly threatens to kill the heroine if the hero doesn’t throw the fight and die! It was mentioned that the creep couldn’t be trusted but the hero still planned to loose to save his sweetheart...we’ll maybe. Why didn’t Auric loudly proclaim that the other leader was making death threats against Tamara! Why didn’t he point out to the other warriors that, if the criminal won, any of the other warrior’s future spouses would be threatened the same way. He would keep all his followers permanently enslaved with threats to their families. The villain was a lot better at spouting untruths. There wasn’t enough back and forth to make me happy.
